Many school principals are questioning whether students in all school clubs and non-competitive sports activities can be required to participate in a drug testing program. A review of case law decisions since the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Vernonia School Dist. 47J v. Acton in 1995 may be instructive in regards to school policy, and drug testing practices.
