STEPS IN APPLYING FOR LEGAL SERVICES

To obtain legal services a member needs to follow this simple application process:

1. Make sure you are qualified for legal services by contacting the ASA Office at (602) 252-0361, and ask for Membership Services.

2. Once eligibility for legal services is verified, complete the Legal Services Intake Form on the ASA website and submit additional information as an attachment or by facsimile (602) 252-8862 (additional information may include governing board agenda or minutes, contract, policy violations, performance evaluations, and timeline of events pertaining to your legal issue).

3. Within a reasonable amount of time and within two business days or sooner, you will receive a telephone call from either the Executive Director, Dr. Roger Short or the Director of Legal Services, Dr. Kay Hunnicutt, pertaining to your legal issue.

4. Notify ASA of any pending or upcoming meetings or actions that may influence your legal rights.

5. At this point, if your employment issue is covered by ASA legal services you will receive up to two hours of consultation at no cost or a referral to an attorney specializing in your specific legal issue.

6. All information will remain confidential.
