Peoria principal earns national honor
Oakwood Elementary School Principal Paul Bower was named Arizona's 2009 National
Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School
Principals. He will be honored at an awards banquet at the Capital Hilton Hotel
in Washington D.C. on Oct. 23. The National Distinguished Principals program,
held in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, will feature an
address from the Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Principals are chosen by
National Association of Elementary School Principals state affiliates and by
